Alexis is the New York-based little black dress of retail. Brand building, consulting, curation, public speaking and social strategizing, Alexis does it all.
She began her career as a merchant, with experience in both the fashion and food industries, before transitioning to her current role as a retail and apparel analyst and writer. During her time as a merchant, she was responsible for creating current, fresh and innovative assortments designed to address consumer needs. As a merchant Alexis collaborated cross functionally with brand teams, designers, merchandise planners, inventory analysts and production members to bring relevant products to customers in the most efficient manner. Alexis has worked with and for national brands and retailers such as Instagram, New York & Company, Neiman Marcus, Target, Nestle, Starbucks and Zappos, and her work has reached a global audience. Alexis currently lends her experience in fashion and retail to her role as an industry analyst, where she writes consumer reports on a range of retail topics. Her writing has covered categories such as online shopping, holiday shopping, footwear and men's clothing, among many others. In addition to her writing, Alexis has worked with a number of clients, including ad agencies and retailers, to provide insight and suggestions for various projects including marketing campaigns and new product category expansion. Alexis is also Mintel's resident Fashion and Retail Influencer, producing content and providing coverage of what's happening in the industry. In her current role, she's had the opportunity to interview industry leaders, including designer Rebecca Minkoff as part of her monthly industry coverage, and speak at high-profile industry events, such as the NRF Big Show. She shares her retail knowledge and fashion opinion on the Mintel blog, where she runs a monthly series entitled Retail Radar, and has also shared her perspective as a host on Mintel's Podcast, Little Conversation. Her expertise has been featured in publications such as Business of Fashion, The Chicago Tribune, Glossy, The L.A. Times, Vogue Business, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post and Women's Wear Daily. Passionate about products, trends and consumer behavior, Alexis also has a love of storytelling, by both building assortments and sharing her voice in the written form. She strives to bring ideas and trends to life through a unique speaking voice and point of view reflected in her work. In her spare time, Alexis enjoys sweating it all out in yoga, experimenting with new recipes while drinking wine in her Brooklyn kitchen, exploring the city with her husband, and watching old movies (especially musicals). She has a particular weakness for every franchise of the Real Housewives. Alexis is available for both on and off camera contributions and speaking engagements. Get in touch! |
